Snake Creek Reservoir: Popular Fishing Spot

More west Georgians are using their free time to go fishing-- if the amount of permits sold for the Snake Creek Reservoir last year is any indication.

“We opened up the Snake Creek Reservoir to fishing about four or five years ago. This year we sold over 850 permits—up a couple hundred over the previous year,” Carroll County Water Authority Executive Director Matt Windom said Thursday. “I don’t know if it’s because the weather was nicer this year, or…maybe the word is getting out to residents that it is a good place to fish and enjoy themselves. It’s been a great opportunity for us to share that resource with the community.”

408 annual; 345 daily; and 134 youth permits were sold last year for access to the Snake Creek Reservoir.
