Shooting Victim In ICU Following Altercation In Villa Rica
Police say a Villa Rica man faces charges he returned home early from working out-of-town to find another male in his Barton Lane home in the Fairfield Plantation subdivision late Saturday. Captain Jeff Richards with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says many details are being held back at this time but apparently an altercation led to shots being fired.
“After coming home, an argument ensued with the other male on the premises,” Richards said late Sunday. “During the argument, the victim was struck by gunfire. We are holding off on his information until it is known that his family has been made aware.”
He says the shooting victim fled the scene and was able to call 911. Emergency crews were able to locate him through the GPS device on his cell phone.
Richards says the suspect, 37-year old Bobby J. Roberts is so far charged with one-count of aggravated assault.
