“For potential-businesses looking in our area, to have a road-way system where they can move product in and out is something that is clearly on their mind and of importance to them,” Carroll County Chamber President, Daniel Jackson said Monday. “We are also fortunate in our proximity to Atlanta… and then being on a network system that can get us to Alabama-Birmingham, Chattanooga… to the port system of Savannah--- wherever trucks need to go to move product.”
Jackson points to the areas proximity to education and healthcare as strong selling points as well; plus he notes an improving relationship with the state.
“We may be in the best position ever in terms of relationship with the state folks and project managers,” he says. “I think recent trips we’ve taken to Canada, Japan, Dubai… the state recognizes that we are serious. We have been going with them on some of these trips and I think we are being rewarded with our share of opportunity, because of that.”
Jackson says at least four local communities are currently being considered as spots for new business locations.
