Carroll County Democrats On Local Race Interest & Obama

Less than two weeks away from the Presidential Preference Primary in Georgia. This go-around, there are nine Republican names on the ballot along with President Obama, the lone Democrat. Chairman of The Carroll County Democrat Committee, Robert Sanders made the case for Obama to have a second term on a recent WLBB Community Voice program “The economy is turning around and it’s a slow process given the whole that we came into at the beginning of the administration. The economy is turning around with millions and millions of jobs in the private sector,” he says. “It’s Democrats that want to end tax breaks for companies that send their jobs overseas and Republicans have fought it every step of the way; It’s Democrats that want to cut back subsidies for the oil companies that make millions and millions and billions of dollars each quarter. Republicans fight us each step of the way.”
Sanders says few Democrats have so far expressed interest in seeking local positions up for election this summer. The Carroll County Democratic Committee next meets this Thursday at 6:30 pm at the Sunnyside Café in Carrollton.
