Olde Time Fair To Coincide With New Park Opening

The Carroll County Parks Department is planning an Olde Time County Fair to coincide with the official opening of the new Little Tallapoosa Park off of Highway 113. The park, when opened offers separate RV and tent sites, close to seven miles of natural trails and is equestrian friendly. Work on a paved trail in the park is scheduled to begin this spring. “ We are shooting for April (for the park opening) and we thought it would be good to tie the two together,” says Parks Director, Trudy Crunkleton. “The weather lately has slowed us down on finishing everything out there so we’re trying to get everything in place.”
Crunkleton says Olde Time County fair organizers are looking for exhibits rather than just vendors. “We’ll have someone making goat cheese, somebody showing how to milk a cow and blacksmithing activities,” she says. “Just a lot of things that a lot of people have never seen before.”
Crunkleton encourages vendors and exhibitors interested in being part of the Olde Time County Fair scheduled for April 21st and 22nd, to call the Parks Department at John Tanner Park.
