Does SPLOST Collections Suggest Better Times In Carroll County
Both the Carroll County and Carrollton City school systems this week report improved SPLOST generations for January. Carrollton City Schools Superintendent, Dr. Kent Edwards on Tuesday said collections are up more than $46,000, reflecting the eighth consecutive month of increases over the previous year. Edwards says, “This is a great indicator that people are spending again in our county.”
Carroll County Schools Chief Financial Officer, Greg Denney announced Monday the largest SPLOST check for the county system in over 2-years. He did acknowledge the numbers are likely up a little due to holiday spending but says nonetheless, the revenue is up climbing compared to the same period last year.
