A two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning claims the life of a Carrollton woman. According to Gordy Wright with the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 11:40 on Shady Grove near Betty Lane. A 1993 Ford Escort LX being driven by 40-year-old Sherry Shorter from Carrollton was traveling south on Shady Grove when the Escort crossed the centerline and hit a 1994 Jeep Cherokee head-on. Ms. Shorter died in the crash.
The driver of the Jeep, 52-year old Belinda Ramos, also from Carrollton was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center. A three-year-old passenger in the Jeep was airlifted to Childrens' Healthcare of Atlanta - Scottish Rite.
