ATLANTA—Feb. 7, 2012—Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGa) is pleased to announce the winners of the Get Active, Get Fit! School Challenge. The 20 Georgia schools with the highest percentage of participation in the program have won a live dance party at their school hosted by Radio Disney, WDWD AM 590. Five schools were also awarded new gym equipment packages valued at $500 for being the first to sign up and complete the Challenge.
The Get Active, Get Fit! School Challenge was designed to motivate kids and families to achieve fitness together by engaging in fun activities. In 2011, the second year of this collaboration, the Challenge was completed by more than 45,000 children at 91 Georgia elementary schools.
The local winners of the live dance parties at their schools are:

19. Whitesburg Elementary, Whitesburg , Carroll County

We are thrilled with the continued success that Radio Disney’s ‘Get Active Get Fit!’ program has experienced in engaging Georgia’s children in healthy fitness activities.”
Nearly 500,000 students nationwide signed up to participate in this year’s Get Active, Get Fit! School Challenge in Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, New Hampshire, Ohio, Upstate New York, Virginia and Wisconsin.
