A man “on the lam” from local authorities for several years was brought before a Carroll County Magistrate Judge Tuesday. Bond was denied for 49-year old Michael Patrick Rogers who was initially convicted of four counts of child molestation in Carroll County in 2001. He never registered as a convicted sex offender, nor did he report to his probation officer as required upon his release from prison, according to Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Captain, Jeff Richards.
The sheriff’s office was alerted last November to Rogers’ whereabouts after he received credit for assisting officers in Connecticut for saving the life of a teenage girl. He now awaits trial in Carroll County Superior Court.
