The man who fell just 17 votes shy of becoming Carrollton’s next mayor this past November says he is considering a run at the Carroll County Commission Chairman seat. Walt Hollingsworth says he is considering qualifying for this year’s ballot after reportedly receiving encouragement from a local group of citizens. Those supporters displayed signs for the potential-candidate during Monday’s MLK Day parade through Carrollton.
He says one deterring factor from qualifying for him would be that under the county charter, he would have to relinquish running his concrete business, should he win the election. He says he has lawyers currently reviewing the charter for clarification.
