Villa Rica, GA -- On 12/27/11 a suspect was caught shoplifting a TV mount and HDMI cable at the Wal-Mart in Villa Rica. During the investigation Corporal Carl Hicks conducted a search of the suspect’s car and found a plastic file case. The file case had numerous receipts, supplies, and records. The suspect was charged with Shoplifting and later posted bond to be released.
Detective Chris Bertera along with Wal-Mart Loss Prevention employees continued to investigate the suspect. It was discovered that the suspect was using an elaborate scheme to steal several thousand from Wal-Mart. The suspect was falsifying receipts, changing UPC codes on items, shoplifting other items, and returning the items for refunds.
It has been determined that the suspect has committed one other theft in the Villa Rica Wal-Mart and a state warrant has been issued for his arrest. The investigation also found that the suspect was committing thefts at several Wal-Marts in the north Georgia area. Those stores and local law enforcement agencies are in the process of being notified.
The suspect has been identified as Kevin Olin White, Black/Male, 40 years old, from Atlanta Ga.
