Carroll County -- The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office along with officers from the Carroll County / Carrollton Police Department ACE Unit (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement) located Brandon Michael King (21 – from Whitesburg) hiding in the attic during the execution of a search warrant for stolen weapons and other merchandise.
King is wanted in Missouri for Violations of Probation, Burglary, and for walking away from a “Community Release Center” (Similar to Georgia’s Diversion Centers – which in GA would be considered an Escape). King was also wanted by local authorities for Burglary and Forgery from 2007 & 2010. Local authorities were aware that King was in custody out of State but were unaware of his unauthorized departure and return to Georgia.
King was one of 3 people arrested in connection with a search for stolen weapons and other property. Also arrested were Wesley Lord (24 – Tallapoosa) and Melissa Holland (44 – Carrollton).
Lord = 2 counts of Felony Shoplifting
Holland = Possession of Methamphetamine
King = Burglary, Forgery, & Violation of Probation.
The search warrant resulted from an on-going theft investigation where gun(s) and clothing had been stolen from local sporting good stores along with other items taken in unrelated thefts. Lord was previously on bond on theft charges from theft charges from the Bremen Police Department. After being identified the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Carrollton PD / Carroll Co. S.O. ACE Unit worked diligently and located Lord at a residence on Whooping Creek Church Road where he, the stolen gun(s), and others were found.
Additional charges are pending concerning their involvements in the theft(s).
