Approx. 60 Employees Wait Word On Job Status

No word yet on how or if the announcement Tuesday, that as many as 120 K-Mart and Sears big-box stores will be shut-down, will affect the Carrollton Bankhead Highway K-Mart. Word came yesterday from the parent company and pointed to “sales during the peak holiday period falling sharply” as a main reason for the closings.
The local store’s manager said yesterday that business was good over the holiday season at the Bankhead location. That store employs approximately 60 people.
