A convicted child molester who authorities say was on the lam from Carroll County authorities for six years before being found in Connecticut --after rescuing a suicidal teenage girl -- is scheduled to appear before a judge in Connecticut state court today. Georgia officials are seeking the extradition of 49-year-old Michael Rogers. He is wanted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for a 2005 alleged violation of probation connected to child molestation convictions.
Rogers reportedly saved a suicidal teenager from drowning herself in a Connecticut lake in September of this year and helped a police officer get out of deep muck during the rescue. Police say they discovered Rogers' true identity two months after the incident.
