Former BOE Member Charged With False Imprisonment

A former Carroll County Board of Education member surrenders to authorities after 45-minutes of negotiations. Captain Jeff Richards with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says police were called to a residence early Friday where Mike Huckaba had reportedly barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom of a Roopville home. He reportedly had a small pistol and was holding his ex-wife against her will.

Huckaba was arrested on false imprisonment and two counts of aggravated assault for allegedly pointing his weapon at two individuals.

Huckaba resigned from his elected seat on the Carroll County School Board in Spring of this year citing a need to be more available for his two sons.
