The Carroll County School Board unveiled the newly renovated College and Career Academy yesterday to a healthy crowd. The 22,000 square foot facility located behind West Central Technical College prepares high school students all over the county for post-secondary institutions leading to high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand careers. Back in April of 2008, the Georgia Department of Education approved the 10-year charter application submitted by the county school system for the creation of a technical and career focused charter school. In 2009 the charter school received a $3 million grant from the Georgia Career Academies Project to expand its operations and serve the growing number of high school students seeking career-focused education.
