Former Carrollton Mayor Gerald Pilgrim is tapped as the Director for the new Carroll County Judicial Center. Carroll County Commission Chairman Bill Chappell says Pilgrim was selected from thirty-eight applicants for the position. “Pilgrim’s contacts and his knowledge of west Georgia was probably the deciding factor,” Chappell says. “That position will be in charge of managing that 130,000 ft. facility and working with the judges. I told Superior Court Judge John Simpson that this job is designed to make the judges’ lives easier… and let them focus on the judging business.”
Chappell says the position was advertised for at least ten days on the Carroll County website. He says pay for the job fits into an open position in the current budget.
