Work on the Carrollton amphitheater project continues with plans to have it complete by early 2012. Carrollton Asst. City Manager Tim Grizzard says the structural steel is in place. "There's a fabric roof to go over it. It will let water go through but it's there for shade. It reminds me of the Denver Airport," he says. "So it's coming along. Considering the weather, I think they've made good head-way."
The Carrollton Main Street program will begin a promotional campaign next Spring. Executive Director, Jessica Reynolds says the debut of the amphitheater will likely coincide with 2012 Mayfest and the season would run through August or September. She hopes that each month would feature at least one musical performance and one film presentation.
