School Bus Struck During Chain Reaction

Carroll County School officials say no students were injured during a four-vehicle accident in which a school bus was struck Tuesday morning. Georgia State Patrol, Public Information Officer, Gordy Wright says a 16-year old Carrollton female is charged with failing to yield, which led up to the incident.

Wright says the juvenile pulled from Happy Hill road to make a left turn on GA 16 and pulled into the path of an eastbound Chevy Cobalt.  The Chevrolet hit a Ford Explorer in the side and then the Chevy was hit in the rear by a Dodge Ram.  The Chevy then crossed the westbound lanes of GA 16 and hit the right side of the school bus that was turning right onto 16 from Heath Road. That car had to be cut out from under the bus and the driver of the car was transported by West GA. Ambulance to an emergency center.

Carroll County Schools Public Relations Director, Elena Schulenburg says the bus had 6 Central Middle and high school students onboard at the time.
