Arrest Made In Bremen Shooting Death

Haralson county investigators say that it is likely that a hunting accident took the life of a 50-year old Bremen woman last week. Karen Bynum was reportedly shot once, near the wooded area behind her home on Poseyville Road.

Haralson County Sheriff Eddie Mixon says 47-year old Jerry Moreland of Dallas admits to shooting a single shot from a high-powered rifle. Investigators believe that shot hit Bynum and resulted in her death.

Mixon says Moreland had been hunting without a hunting license – and with Bynum’s son on the victim’s property. Bynum’s son called 911 to report his mother’s condition after noon Wednesday.

The alleged shooter, is so far charged with involuntary manslaughter.
