The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a west Georgia plane crash that killed a Florida couple and their 24-year-old son.
Haralson County Coroner Danny Hutcheson said that 56-year-old Kim Woliver and 53-year-old Patricia Woliver died in the Saturday crash. The coroner said their son Alex died Sunday morning after he was rushed to the burn unit of Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
He said the plane was trying to make an emergency landing en route from Knoxville, Tenn. to Panama City, Fla. when it hit some trees.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the Cessna 177 crashed near Tallapoosa, not far from the Alabama state line.
