Officer Pleas To Probation

A former Temple Police officer pleads guilty this week to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, third-degree cruelty to children, and battery under the family violence act. 30-year old Lee Powell was terminated from his position with Temple Police soon after the charges were brought forward last April.
Powell’s ex-girlfriend alleged at that time she was assaulted at her home by Powell after he had returned their son from a custody visit. Powell receives 36 consecutive months of probation.
