Bowdon's Babbie Debuts New Song At Tonight's Choirs For Cancer

Grammy-nominated gospel artist Babbie Mason says at tonight’s Choirs For Cancer event, she is debuting a recently written song of her own. “I wrote a song… it’s not even recorded yet… it’s not even on record,” Mason says about “This I Know For Sure” which she calls a beautiful song of hope. She says, “Hopefully it will be a song that will encourage some hearts. I wrote it on the heels of last year’s Choirs For Cancer event. So maybe last year had a lot to do with inspiring it. It will be fun to see the audience response.”

Mason is headlining tonight’s Choirs For Cancer event along with six other gospel groups from local churches and the community.

Tanner Medical Foundation, Director of Development, Kathy Mathis says the event was started in 2010 as a way to raise money for cancer treatment and other related expenses for patients in the community. “One of the best things about our community is that we really come together to support each other,” she says. “All proceeds benefit patients who cannot afford cancer treatment, medications, transportation… other things that come along with the diagnosis of cancer.”

The show starts at 7:00 in the Joshua R. Mabry Center For The Arts at Carrollton High School.
