The city of Bowdon is joining other local municipalities in participating in home-recycling pick-up. Ward-3 Councilman Wes McIntyre says Bowdon is taking advantage of a new program offered by Waste Industries. "If a city renews it's trash contract for five years, they offer curbside pick-up for recycling to the city and residents for free." McIntyre says, "They provide all the equipment so it's the perfect opportunity to extend our rate... save the citizens money on our current rate and offer additional services."
McIntyre says recycling service will likely begin as in Januaury, with Waste Industries providing 65 gallon recycling bins to be picked up every other Thursday.
