Both Mt. Zion and Bowdon appear to elect new mayors on Tuesday. Long-term incumbent Jim Watts trails Keith Crawford in his bid to keep his mayoral seat. Unofficially, Crawford leads by 20-votes-- or more than 11% of the total. Three city council seats on the ballot in Bowdon were un-challenged.
In Mt. Zion, Randy Sims wins the mayoral seat after collecting 53% of the votes—that were split between three candidates. Keith Pike wins council ward one with 52% of the votes—again, a race with three candidates. Earlis McGraw has three more votes (more than 1.5%) than Clay Traylor.
All three incumbent city council members on the ballot in Temple this year, win their races.
