A Carrollton man pleads guilty to felony murder Friday in the shooting death of his long-time girlfriend late last year. 35-year old Alan Turcios Zapata is sentenced to life in prison plus ten years.
Carrollton Police arrived at the couple’s home last November to find the victim dead from a gunshot wound to the side. Police found Zapata with an apparent self-inflicted gun-shot wound to the head, which he obviously survived.
The shooter and victim share an 11-year old daughter who is now expected to be cared for by the victim’s 25-year old son from a previous relationship.
