Three Accused in Fraudulent 'The Medication Program' Turn Selves In To Police

A "well-known" Carrollton pediatrician and two area-business owners allegedly involved in fraudulent activity at ‘The Medication Program’ in Carrollton and Bowdon, turn themselves into authorities this week. In late August, investigators shut down the two prescription programs accused of forging documents to file for free medications and pocketing a handling fee.

Dr. Eric Baret and Melanie & William “Grant” Moore were booked and released on bond Wednesday. Carrollton Police Investigator Meredith Hoyle Browning says investigations revealed evidence that Dr. Baret was contracted by the Moore’s to "re-write" prescriptions.

Investigators confiscated close to 13,000 pill bottles and refrigerated medications from the shut-down locations on August 31st. Investigators believe those had been illegally stock-piled.

‘The Medication Program’ had been in business for about nine years and investigators believe the rewriting of prescriptions had been going on since the beginning.
