A motion by Haralson County Commissioners this month to “temporarily suspend operations” at the West Georgia Youth Firing Range is not enough for the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office to legally shut the facility down, according to Haralson County Sheriff Eddie Mixon. Mixon says while some residents near the facility charge that his office has not followed up on the county board’s motion, he points out that any action by his office must first come through a court ordered injunction. He says the county has a marshal who works with county ordinances.
