CCBOE Proactive With 2012-13 Budget

The Carroll County Board of Education gets a jump on the 2012-2013 budgeting process--- part of an 8-hour planning meeting this week.

While working on the current school year’s budget this past spring and early summer, board member Jon Anderson urged the board to start preparing early for next year’s financial plan, because the coming budget is likely to be an even tougher conquer than the current one.

In preparing for potential budget shortfalls, Anderson says the board is now reviewing “the way the school district is organized and functions.” He says the board hopes to be able to present a tiered outline of potential cuts for public review by the end of this year. Early estimates predict a potential $5M shortfall in funds for Carroll County schools for the 2012-2013 school year.
