Authorities charge a 67-year old grandfather from Clem in the shooting death of his son-in-law. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Captain Shane Taylor says Clyde Henry Puckett is cooperating with investigators and remains in the Carroll County Jail pending a first hearing today.
Puckett is charged with the murder of 40-year old Michael Shane Barber, at Barber’s home on White Oak Court, south of Carrollton. Captain Taylor says Barber was fired upon multiple times and the hand-gun used was located at the crime scene. Other family members living in the home are believed to have been out of town at the time of the shooting.
Authorities do not speculate on a motive for this particular incident but do say the two involved have had an on-going feud stemming from family issues. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office records show that authorities have been called to the residence at least once in the last six months regarding a domestic violence issue.
