"Desperate" Gun Theif Turns Self In

A Bremen man wanted for the brazen theft of two-shotguns, in broad daylight, from a local Wal-Mart store turns himself into Bremen Police over the weekend. Police Chief Keith Pesnell says 24-year old Wesley Allen Lord, accompanied by a couple and their infant child, walked into the store’s sporting goods section a couple weeks back, opened a display case, put the pair of shotguns in his pants legs and left the business.

“We feel the suspect was…to do that, was very desperate,” says Pesnell. “We’re fortunate that someone recognized him (from store surveillance video) and made a call (to the CrimeStoppers tip-line) and we were able to get him off the street.”

Pesnell says Lord is charged with theft--  and other federal charges are pending.
