Temple City Council approves a Sage Street property for a special land use Tuesday, opening the door for an after school program for elementary school children to begin sometime this winter. Patricia Alexander is a 25-year veteran teacher wanting to turn a vacant home into a tutoring facility for kids. Alexander says “it’s more like a homework club, than an after school program.”
The program is operating in conjunction with the school calendar and will have a before and after school program available. Alexander has set a target fee of between $30-$40 per week, per student. She says her main focuses are getting the kids a good snack after school, tutoring, encouraging reading, and some old-fashioned play time.
