Villa Rica Police Make Arrest For Theft Of Donation Money

On 09-15-11 a male stole a donation jar from the inside of Swifty Save on Conners Rd in Villa Rica. Video surveillance showed the suspect taking the jar and walking to the restroom. The jar was later discovered in the trash can inside the restroom. The donation jar was for Kid One (Fragile Children’s Network).

On 09-23-11 at 5:11 PM, Villa Rica Police received a tip that the person who stole the donation money was at 629 South St in Villa Rica. Detective Sergeant Brian Finley had already identified the suspect as Ryan Michael Robinson on an earlier date. Villa Rica Police Officers went to the location and conducted a search of the residence. The officers were told that Robinson had left just prior to the officer’s arrival. The officers then checked a vacant residence at 631 South St and found Robinson hiding in the bath tub behind a shower curtain.

Ryan Michael Robinson is 22 years old from Villa Rica Ga. Robinson admitted to taking the jar and stated that there was $21.00 inside the donation jar. Robinson said that he was out of work and knew that he was wanted for the probation violation. He further said that he was embarrassed by his actions.

Robinson was arrested on an active warrant for probation violation and taken to Carroll Co S.O.  Sgt. Finley then obtained an arrest warrant for Robinson through Douglas County for Theft by Taking and a hold was placed on Robinson for that charge.
