Commissioner Butler to speak Thursday in conjunction with huge job expo in Rome
ATLANTA – State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler will speak at a Shorter University-sponsored vendor appreciation luncheon Thursday at 12:40 p.m. at The Forum Ballroom in Rome. The luncheon will be held from 12 noon to 1:50 p.m.
The luncheon will be held in conjunction with the Third Annual Northwest Georgia/Shorter University Job Expo, co-sponsored by Shorter University and the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL). It will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at The Forum-Downtown, located at 2 Government Plaza.
“I’m pleased that we’re partnering with Shorter University to bring these resources to job seekers and employers in this area, which has been particularly hard-hit by the recession,” said Commissioner Butler. “This year’s Job Expo is expected to be one of the largest the Georgia Department of Labor has sponsored.”
More than 100 employers and service providers are registered to participate. Job seekers will be able to speak with employers, complete applications, and turn in resumes. Certified resume writers from the GDOL will be available to assist job seekers with their resumes.
