Carroll County officials are presented with three symbolic American flags, by the wife of a Carroll County engineer and Navy Lieutenant who was in his office in the Kabul, Afghanistan city-center last week, when that city’s US Embassy witnessed the most violent attacks of it’s 10 year existence. Brian Kent was fortunately unharmed as the attacks had prompted a large scale lockdown of all military and diplomatic facilities, and that evening, he slept in his office, nearly 7,500 miles away from his Bowdon family farm.
Brian’s wife, Diane and their three young children presented the three flags that had made the journey home from Kabul. All three had flown over Camp Eggers at some point this year. Two of the flags, are for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Carroll County Fire Department. They flew over the base on September 11th. The third flag flew over Camp Eggers on June 9 of this year, the anniversary of the creation of Carroll County.
