Residents of the 15-county Northwest Georgia Region get to view the $1-Billion worth of proposed transportation projects at a public meeting Tuesday night in Cartersville. Local recommendations from the Northwest Georgia T-SPLOST include $34.7 million of improvements in Haralson County… where pedestrian and bike improvements on business 27 south, Georgia 100 and Georgia 120… Georgia 120 west improvements… US 27 railroad grade separation… US 78 improvements… and Wall Street/US 78 intersection improvements are suggested.
More than $164 Million in projects are recommended for Paulding county which includes widening Macland road… a fiber optic traffic monitoring system and traffic control center… improvements to Georgia 61… widening US 278… a west Dallas bypass… and an Xpress Rregional commuter service.
If voters approve the T-SPLOST referendum, currently set for the July 2012 primary election, the collection would last 10 years.
