Crime Prevention Programs A Benefit To Local Businesses

Carrollton Police say as the calendar gets closer to -- and into the 4th quarter, they tend to see more burglaries and armed thefts. Carrollton Police Lieutenant James Perry says especially at this time, area businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the police force’s crime prevention programs. “These are programs for banks and businesses to help raise their awareness level for employees and even management, as to trends, etc we are seeing,” he says. “We’ll help evaluate the security of the business itself… evaluate camera angles- what might be the better way to capture a robbery if one does occur. Another example is the outside shrubbery… It applies to businesses just like it does to homes. If you make the location more visible perhaps you can deter criminal activity.”
Perry says if businesses, church groups or civic groups require a specific need or inquiry, local authorities can tailor a program to meet their interest. Those interested are encouraged to inquire at the Carrollton police department.
