Carrollton -- Carrollton city council met for a regular scheduled meeting to vote on a few agenda items, one of which, furthers the progress on the reconstruction of the train depot on Bradley Street. Construction has already cost the city $270,000 to date using mostly inmate labor for much of the non-specialized work.
City council voted for the 2nd cheapest option available for the roofing for the building costing $317,900 with $225,000 of that money coming from left over SPLOST. City Manager Casey Coleman says the project will hopefully be finished by next summer. City councilman Mike Patterson suggested the city consider adopting a resolution allowing for the building to be used for public and private events like weddings and other receptions.
