A Georgia based bank with a branch in Carrollton is assuming all deposits of The 1st National Bank of Fla after purchasing the bank Friday. Charter Bank of GA took over the responsibilities of the eight branch independent community bank serving NW Fla, Saturday morning. 1st National Bank of Fla became the nation's 71st banking failure in 2011.
