Minister Claims Unnecessary Tasing By Police

A Douglas County minister complains to Douglasville city council this week that he was tasered by city police “for no reason at all.” Apostle Kenneth Freeman of the New Beginning Sanctuary of Faith in Douglasville was reportedly tasered when he showed up at the scene of a traffic stop, in which his son was being cited for an improper tag. Apostle Freeman claims the officer tasered him "not just one time,” but twice. Douglasville Police Chief Chris Womack says audio and video of the incident has been turned over to internal affairs to determine if the officer involved committed any wrongdoing. Womack says, “We do know that verbal commands were given by the officer that were not followed by the driver of the vehicle or the dad that showed up on the scene.” Apostle Freeman and his son were charged with disorderly conduct after the incident.
