Qualifying for November’s municipal election concluded this afternoon in both Carroll and Haralson counties. In Bowdon, Keith Crawford qualifies today to challenge incumbent Jim Watts for mayor. Wes McIntyre qualifies for city council ward three and will likely retain his seat, as no one lese qualified before the deadline.
All 4 qualifiers for city council in Roopville are likely to hold a council seat in 2012 after incumbent Brian Entrekin qualifies today.
Temple city council ward 5 incumbent Richard Bracknell has a challenger this fall as Gayla Bearden filled out the paperwork today.
In Carrollton, incumbent Greg Dothard is the lone qualifier for city school board ward 1.
There are two competitive races in Tallapoosa come November, after Jonathon James qualifies today for council post 4. He’ll challenge the incumbent Charles Worthy. The other race is for post 5.
And there’s a three person competition for mayor in Buchanan as incumbent Benjamin Biggers, Frida Williams, Benny Westmoreland all qualified this week.
