Seven more names qualify for municipal elections in Carroll County Thursday, bringing the number of competitive races this November up to 8. Two of those are for the Mayoral seats in the county’s largest towns.

In Carrollton, Charles Lane qualifies to challenge incumbent city councilwoman Mandy Maierhofer in ward 4. Incumbent ward 3 councilman Peter Balega qualifies Thursday and is challenged by Jim Watters.

In Villa Rica, Terry Turner qualifies to challenge mayor Jay Collins.

Temple city council ward 4 has three names on the ballot, so far. Incumbent William Simmons is challenged by Deborah McIntosh… and Penny Ransom who qualified Thursday.

4 names have qualified for city council ward 1 in Mt. Zion with the addition of Keith Pike.

And in Roopville, post three incumbent John Price and Kenneth Duane Hill both qualify to be on November’s ballot for city council.
