So Far, 5 Competitive Races In Carroll

Qualifying for this year’s municipal elections in Carroll County did not slow down yesterday with six more names being added to November’s ballot Wednesday. Earl Phillips qualifies for the Carrollton City schools at-large board seat.

Both Donald Newman and Daniel Jackson qualify for Mount Zion’s city council ward one seat.

In Temple, city council ward 4 incumbent William Simmons qualifies, as does a challenger for that seat—Deborah McIntosh.

In Villa Rica, incumbent city councilwoman Shirley Marchman qualifies for ward one.

In Haralson County, Bremen city council post-1 incumbent Sonny Parrish qualifies to seek re-election to his position this fall.

Qualifying in both counties continues through Friday.
