VRPD -- On Friday, 08-26-11, Villa Rica Police conducted an operation involving alcohol sales to underage individuals. Underage persons were sent into all establishments in the city which sell alcoholic beverages for takeout. Villa Rica Police employees followed the minors and watched as they attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages. Four (4) establishments in the city were found selling alcoholic beverages to the minors. The clerks in those stores were charged with Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.

Liberty Shell, 10135 Hwy 78 East Villa Rica Ga.
Citgo Food Mart, 143 E. Montgomery St Villa Rica Ga.
Shell Food Mart, 157 Commerce Dr. Villa Rica Ga.
Open Pantry, 408 Rockmart Rd. Villa Rica Ga.
Captain Keith Shaddix reports “There were a total of twenty four (24) locations checked and only these four (4) were found in violation. That is still four too many. Businesses should expect another operation in the future.”
