The Carroll County school board approves their proposed millage rate increase following tuesday’s third of three public hearings on the matter. Board members Sandra Morris and Bart Cater voted against the millage rate increase. County taxes will be raised 1.5 mills to a total rate of 19.6 mills, .4 mills shy of the maximum allowed my state law. The Carroll County board of commissioners is expected to accept the schools-millage-rate hike at a called meeting this afternoon.
