A Carroll County man overseas in Afghanistan with the Georgia National Guard is expected home soon, less than a week after his family reportedly loses everything they own in a house fire. Fire officials are looking for the exact cause of the fire that destroyed their apartment on Muse Bridge Road.
Sgt. Michael Lambert has been working in Afghanistan on a private defense department contract. Reports state his family has lost clothes, cars and pets but fortunately they escaped the ordeal without major injury. A friend with the Georgia National Guard helped set up a relief fund for the family at Wells Fargo Bank and anyone inclined to make a donation should ask for the Lambert relief fund.
