The Carrollton Main Street Program would like to invite you to attend this year’s 20th annual Taste of Carrollton event. Taste of Carrollton will take place on Adamson Square on Thursday September 15th from 5:30-8pm. This year’s event is sponsored by Charter Communications, the Times Georgian and Gradick Communications. With the success of last year’s event under our belt we are excited about the new changes and additions that this year will bring.
For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to attend in the past this annual event features over 35 local restaurant’s culinary creations and specialty items for your dining pleasure. Attendees can purchase tickets to exchange for their bite sized “tastes” from each restaurant. Tickets are valued at one dollar a piece and can be purchased with cash, checks or credit cards. The money raised from the purchasing of tickets will go to support the Carrollton Main Street Program. Carrollton Main Street is a non-profit nationally accredited program that exists to promote and sustain historic Adamson Square.
This year’s event will be host to two epic wing eating contests. The City of Carrollton’s Fire Department and Police Department will face off again in their fourth year of this annual tradition as the Fire department defends their title as the ultimate Champion of Chicken. The second contest will be the ultimate athletic match up as Carrollton High School and Central High School’s Football teams face off for the second time in a wing eating showdown. Main Street extends a special thanks to the Irish Bred Pub who will be donating the hot wings for these competitions.
If you wish to get a jump start on this event tickets will go on sale September 1st and will be available for purchase at Horton’s Bookstore, Elle Salon, Merle Norman, The Nest, The Squire Shop and City Hall as well as at the event.
