Woman Arrested, Accused Of Stealing Flowers From Cemetery

On 5/13/2014, The Sheriff’s Office arrested Eleanor Lynn Ashley for six (6) felony counts of theft by taking concerning the theft of flowers from cemeteries located in Carroll County. A theft from a memorial to the dead is a felony in Georgia regardless of the dollar amount of the stolen items. Carroll County deputies received tips concerning Ms. Ashley selling flowers from her home and an investigation into how she obtained the flowers was launched. Her arrest was based on the results of the investigation and surveillance of her on Friday May 9th when she stole 6 flower arrangements from West GA Memorial Park and the Carrollton City Cemetery.
