Carroll County Emergency Agency Director, Tim Padgett and Haralson County’s EMA Director, Bryan Walker say Thursday evening and Friday morning were both quiet on the weather-front overall… despite concerns that a wintry-mix could create some issues for drivers and power lines. They do caution however, that drivers this morning should continue to use caution as the potential for ice patches does remain until temperatures rise above freezing.
In Carroll County, eight sheriff’s deputies, the EMA crew and roads crews monitored the situation overnight and reported only a few calls.
Carrollton Police report a downed tree which closed the road connecting Austin and Adamson. They expect that to be cleared and re-opened sometime this morning.
