The Polls are open today from 7:00am until 7:00pm and despite Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax proposals on the ballot in Carroll and Haralson county, turnout is expected to be light for this mid-term election.
About 2-percent of Carroll County’s registered voters took advantage of early voting during the previous three weeks.
Challenged races that could be concluded by tomorrow morning include for Carrollton City Ward one and Ward two; and Carrollton City Schools Board Ward Two. Carrollton city residents will also decide on Sunday package sales of alcoholic beverages.
Villa Rica has challenges in city council races for wards three, four and five.
Temple will select a new Mayor; and also has a city council race in ward one.
Mount Zion has challenged races for city council, in ward three and ward-four.
And there’s a four-person race for Mayor in Whitesburg.
We’ll interrupt regular programming throughout the evening on B92 country and Kiss 102.7 to bring you updates on those races.
